| The archer-god was the son of
Zeus and Leto, and the twin brother of Artemis. Apollo was the god of music, prophecy,
colonization, medicine, archery, poetry, dance, and intellectual inquiry. He was also a
bringer of death-dealing plague, and was known as the destroyer of rats and locust. Being
the god of religious healing, he would give those guilty of murder and other immoral deeds
a ritual purification. |
